New Year and Back to Business: Clean Up and Update Your Website

New Year and Back to Business: Clean Up and Update Your Website

We’re talking about getting back in the swing of business for the New Year and today we’re going to talk about your Website.

Your website is critical because in many ways it’s the viewer’s first contact or impression they have of you, your business, and your services.

Have you taken a look….a good look…at your website lately? What is it saying about you?

First and foremost…is it up to date? Does it really reflect what you do, who you’re trying to reach, and how you can solve the issues and challenges they are having?

It’s so easy to put up a website in the beginning of your journey, but then, later on, as things change the website is not updated.

Plus we are a mobile society. Viewers are coming to you on the laptops, phones, tablets…. It’s a techie world out there. You have to be ready!

One of the most confusing things is presenting something to your ideal clients and then when they get to your website, they see something entirely different.

Let me give you an example. I’m an online marketing business coach for women 50 and over, but I didn’t start out that way. I started by doing monthly social media management for different businesses.

Now what if I’m sharing what I do all over the Internet that I’m an online marketing business coach and I work with women 50 an over. I’m giving my website and when they get to my website they see all this information about monthly social media management and nothing about me being a business coach or how women 50 and over they can work with me? See the confusion and the problem that would present?

Go in and take a close look at your website. Look at your Home page. Is it saying what your do and how you help? Can prospects see right away that you KNOW them and what they are going through?

Do they see You not only have their solution….You ARE their solution?

How about your About page? Is it up to date with the information the viewer/prospect has read or heard about you?

What about your Profile picture, is it up to date? Is what they see on the website who they would see it they met you in person?

What about your Who I Help and How I Help pages? Are they getting a clear picture of you, your services, and the solutions you can provide them?

Do you really KNOW who your ideal client is (it’s not everybody) and are you speaking directly to them with problems you provide the solutions to that they are desperately looking for?

On your Services page, is that up to date with the services you are actually offering your prospects?  Services that they came to your site to learn about?  Example: Are you coaching but your services are offering social media management?

Clients are hard enough to get without adding the confusion of a website that’s outdated.

Starting a New Year is the perfect time to go in, take a good hard look at your website, clean it up and update it!
