Joost is a 36 year old web developer, SEO and online marketeer. In the early days of his career, he worked in several companies, ranging from enterprise hosting to online marketing agencies. This allowed him to work with several of the largest brands in the world. He founded CSS3.info – the biggest CSS3 resource on the web – in 2006 and sold it in 2009.
In 2010, Joost created Yoast, which focuses on software, training and services for website optimization. Team Yoast currently consists of almost 50 people around the world. Yoast SEO, Yoast’s main software product, is currently active in over 6 million WordPress websites.
Marieke studied Sociology and Communication Sciences at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. She obtained her PhD in Social Sciences in January 2011. Since then, she worked as a researcher as well as a teacher at multiple universities. Since the beginning of Yoast, she has been involved in the company. As of September 2013, she gave up her position at the university and decided to focus solely on her activities at Yoast.
She is now one of the partners at Yoast. Together with Joost, Michiel and Omar, she runs Yoast. Her main focus is on Academy, she develops products that help people to set up their own SEO strategy. She writes blog posts, eBooks and develops online courses. Her expertise is SEO copywriting and site structure.
Dixon Jones became the Marketing Director of the world’s largest link analysis engine, Majestic, in 2009, transforming the SE industry by providing link intelligence on a scale not previously open to the industry. Bringing this technology to the search marketing industry has resulted in two best SEO Technology awards and a user base of thousands from WordTracker to Microsoft.
He has worked at the forefront of search marketing since 1999, since he set up the UK based search marketing consultancy, Receptional. Dixon has been a consistent presenter on the search conference circuit all over the world and has helped clients in all sectors – including national papers and international search engines themselves to understand their own search strategy.
According to PPC Hero Karl is the 3rd most influential conversion expert in the world. Other people refer to him as the UX comedian. Karl calls himself the G in AGConsult, a Belgium-based usability and conversion optimization company. He’s been optimizing websites since 2001. Always based on user research & facts. Karl’s mission in life is to cure people that do online marketing based on gut feeling and opinions.
He teaches at several university colleges in Belgium and speaks at conferences all over the world. He works for companies such as Suzuki, Thomas Cook, TUI, Shell and Atlas Copco.
Laura is Branded3’s Communications Director, having started the PR team at the agency in 2012 she now oversees PR, Social Media, Content, Design & Front-end Dev. With extensive SEO and social media knowledge, and experience in both traditional and digital PR, Laura knows how to create and execute campaigns which deliver multiple online benefits.
Laura is a regular trainer and speaker at industry events such as Learn Inbound, SAScon and BrightonSEO. Laura also regularly contributes to and is featured in industry publications such as Hubspot expert tips presentations, PRMoment and State of Digital. She won PR Moment’s Young Professional of the Year 2017 and was named in The Drum’s 2017 50 Women in Digital Under 30.
Dave Naylor started working in the SEO industry over 17 years ago with three major corporations releasing their database driven data, creating internal link structures and improving usability.
David’s main motivational driving force is the belief that there is no point having a site if it doesn’t rank No 1. His dedication to giving clients great ROI has led to the constant development of new optimization techniques and the ability to see algorithmic changes before most other SEOs do.
Dave Naylor has the reputation of being one of the best SEOs in the world, who has a proven track record of successes in the most competitive markets.
Roy Huiskes works as an internet marketer since 2003. He knows a lot about all aspects of online marketing, like conversion rate optimization and analytics, but mainly focuses on SEO.
He consulted for a lot of big brands, like AkzoNobel, Univé, AEGON, Frontis, Home of Happy Brands and Merchandise.nl, helping them establishing a strong online position. He co-hosted the State of Search SEO-podcast on Webmasterradio.fm, a very popular show. On top of that, he regularly speaks at conferences like Search Engine Strategies and A4Uexpo.
Marcus Tandler, also known as Mediadonis, is Co-Founder and Managing Director at OnPage.org – an award-winning SaaS Tech-StartUp with the mission to help webmasters make better websites. Marcus started working in the SEO industry about 20 years ago.
He’s a regular speaker at various conferences around the world such as TEDx, LeWeb, The Next Web, SMX and O’Reilly’s web2.0expo. He got lectureships at a number of renowned universities, teaching students how to excel in Online Marketing. Marcus was the first German to ever win the Award for Outstanding Personal Contribution to Affiliate Marketing at CJU Europe 2007.
Rian Rietveld is a WordPress engineer working for Human Made. She’s very passionate about accessibility and is a member of the WordPress Accessibility Team.
The Accessibility Team strives to make WordPress core and all of WordPress’ resources accessible by testing, reviewing and by contributing code. Within the group she organizes the accessibility testing and writes patches and documentation. For this she got credits for WordPress 4.1, 4.2, 4.4, 4.7 and “rockstar” credits for 4.3 and 4.5. If she’s not coding, she works in her garden.
Andrea, core contributor to WordPress, joined Yoast in March 2016 and works remotely from Italy. He helps to improve the accessibility of Yoast’s technology.
Very soon after starting to work at a web agency in 2001 he started focusing on web content accessibility. Studying legal requirements, W3C specifications, and so on, was part of his job. Accessibility became his passion when he started to understand that accessibility can make a difference and really give universal access to content and services for everyone.
